french is a more internationally spoken language. so if you want to go into something that involves international relations it's a really good pick. i may be biased from taking 4 years in high school, but french is so beautiful. but don't get me wrong, spanish is cool too.

I took spanish for three and a half years. Then my senior year I just took french. I fell in love with french, and it came so much easier than spanish. I was a little confused how easy one could come and the other i stuggled. My spanish teacher had taken a class on language specialty. She told me people who speak quickly and closed mouthed, like me, tend to be a better french speaker. If you speak at a slower pace and use a wider mouth spanish comes easier. So I think its up to your way of talk, it will make the decision easy for you. hope i could help:)

French, it's all on personal preferences though. Spanish might be easier to learn considering how many spanish speaking people there are in America now. I took two years of spanish and three of french. Hated spanish for whatever reason and have had a huge passion for french ever since. I'd say look up beginners guides on each, pretty simple to find, and see which one you like more. French promo: French is very very beautiful, and shows more cultural intrigue, if you're looking for personality bonus.
Cultural differences:
~English speaking people, it can usually go either way. One is usually not much harder than the other. Same goes for languages close to Romanian.
~Languages closer to German, like my family, French is easier.
~Languages closer to italian, spanish is easier.
~Languages closer to asian....well....good luck with that one.

Bonne chance!!

Thats a very interesting finding I think. I happen to be a fast speaker and close mouthed. Thanks!
